  I really wanted to shop local and support this Ace location - and I have many times! However, my past three visits now have been not so good. At the begining of the summer they hired a bunch of high school kids needing summer jobs. Great. I support that. However, they don't have any home repair knowledge and aren't able to *actually* help you with your questions. The moment you walk in the store, they ask if you need help finding anything. If you say yes, they putz around for 10 minutes trying to help you when I could have probably found it more quickly on my own. Now, I will say this... at the beginning of the summer I was understanding of the fact that they were new and didn't yet have experience. However, it's clear that more experienced sales team members and management are not properly doing their jobs to train these employees in and mentor them in order to become valuable sales team members. Frankly, the prices are higher at Ace. I used to shop their regardless because I could get individualized, experienced help with my questions. Now, though, the higher prices just aren't worth it. Also, it took over 15 minutes last weekend to get any help with having a gallon of paint mixed. No thank you. I'm sorry, Ace! I'll be shopping at Menards from now on.
